There are a wide variety of post 16 courses at a variety of levels on offer in the Sixth Form. Students progress from Year 11 or are welcome to join the Sixth Form from other schools.
The majority of our students will study 3 A level or Vocational courses and commit to these subjects for 2 years. Students can select 3 A levels, 3 BTEC qualifications, or a combination of both pathways. As part of our broader curriculum, students will also study an AS qualification in Core Mathematics, The Extend Project Qualification (EPQ), or the Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) at level 3.
Some very able students may choose to study 4 A Level subjects in Year 12. They will have to identify which subject they will not continue beyond AS level (1 year) at the start of the course. This is dependent upon the combination of subjects being studied and the performance of students across all subjects at GCSE and is agreed on an individual basis for each student following an interview at the time of enrolment.
